There’s been a spot of bother concerning the financial support for school breakfast clubs from some ultra processed food suppliers such as Kellogg, Greggs and McDonald’s. These breakfast clubs are helping to increase child obesity and the government is being asked to stop this form of promotion. The parents of these children and the teachers of the schools that accept these financial inducements are either ignorant of the link between fast food and obesity or simply don’t care. Like Climate Change the subject brings on a sort of determination to prove the science incorrect by defying the evidence. OK. But to involve children in the defiance seems unkind.
